tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Siren' is coming to the home theater with a deadly character relationship map. This work, airing as a follow-up to 'Spring Fever', is based on the popular Japanese drama 'World of Ice'. Produced by Studio Dragon and CAPE ENA, it has been reborn as a dense 12-episode mystery melodrama.
At the center of the story is Han Seol-ah (played by Park Min-young), the top auctioneer at the country's leading art auction house, Royal Auction. She is a character sharpening her blade of revenge against the mastermind behind her father's death due to a forgery scandal. However, the strange tragedy that "the men who loved her all die" continues, and Han Seol-ah rises not just as a simple victim but as the pinnacle of the mystery.
The pursuer chasing the truth is the ace of the insurance fraud special investigation team, Cha Woo-seok (played by Wi Ha-jun). Traumatized by losing his sister to an insurance fraud murder case, he identifies Han Seol-ah as a prime suspect while tracking a series of mysterious deaths. A woman dreaming of revenge and a man who suspects her, the tension and melodrama flowing between the two are key points to watch in this drama.
The tangled relationships of the surrounding characters also add interest. Startup CEO Baek Joon-beom (played by Kim Jung-hyun) approaches Han Seol-ah through an art trading platform, and photographer Do Eun-hyuk (played by Han Jun-woo) appears as her only supporter who has been by her side since school days. Cha Woo-seok's partner detective Gong Joo-young (played by Gong Seong-ha) feels subtle anxiety during the investigation process, heightening the tension of the drama.
The internal power struggles at Royal Auction are fierce. Executive Director Song Jae-wook (played by Heo Jae-ho) uses auctioneer Kim Yoon-ji (played by Lee El-ya) as a rival to keep Han Seol-ah in check. In particular, Ha Seok-jin, Yoon Jong-hoon, and Kim Dong-jun will make special appearances as characters who love Han Seol-ah and meet tragic ends, maximizing the immersion in the early stages.
Directed by Kim Cheol-kyu and written by Lee Young, 'Siren' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM on tvN. It is available for replay on the OTT platform TVING, and the first episode re-broadcast is scheduled for the 3rd at 10:45 AM and 5:05 PM.
