BLACKPINK’s Rosé is further cementing her standing as a solo artist with the release of her new solo single, ‘new trick.’
Rosé will release ‘new trick’ worldwide at the same time through major music streaming services at 8 a.m. Korea time on the 18th, or 7 p.m. Eastern time on the 17th.
The music video for the new single was directed by Dave Meyers, the renowned filmmaker who has worked on music videos for pop stars Harry Styles and Taylor Swift. It was shot entirely on Apple’s latest model, the ‘iPhone 18 Pro,’ and will be released as part of Apple’s signature global ‘Shot on iPhone’ campaign.
The teaser released alongside the single features uniquely distorted electric guitar sounds and layered vocals, raising anticipation for Rosé’s distinctive musical style.
Rosé reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 with ‘APT.,’ the prerelease single from her first full-length album, ‘rosie,’ in December 2024. With the release of this single, she is expected to step up preparations for a new solo album scheduled for next year.
