The film 'We Are Every Day', featuring the last performance of the late actor Kim Sae-ron, who passed away last February, will meet audiences on the 4th. With the release being a posthumous work ahead of the 1st anniversary of her passing, attention from both inside and outside the film industry is focused on it.
'We Are Every Day' is directed by Kim Min-jae and is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. The film deals with the clumsy yet pure love story of teenagers, depicting the innocent growth narrative of a male student, Ho-soo, who prepares to confess to his childhood friend before entering high school, and the female student, Yeo-ul, who stands at the center of it.
In the film, the role of Ho-soo is played by actor Lee Chae-min, while the role of Yeo-ul is played by the late Kim Sae-ron. The project was completed in 2021, but its release was delayed due to internal circumstances, and it is now finally seeing the light of day.
At a press conference held on the 23rd, director Kim Min-jae expressed, "I had a lot of worries and fears before the film met the audience, but I am happy that it can be released like this."
In particular, Director Kim revealed deep nostalgia for the late lead actress Kim Sae-ron. He recalled, "Kim Sae-ron was a child born to act, and I can confidently say she was the best among the actors I have met, a polite and beautiful friend." He added, "It is regrettable that I cannot witness the mistakes and growth of youth, but she will forever be a memorable actress to me," as he became teary-eyed.
Actor Lee Chae-min, who worked alongside her, also expressed gratitude towards the late actress. Lee Chae-min said, "Although Kim Sae-ron was the same age as me, she led me well on set as a senior," and added, "Looking back now, I am very grateful for the detailed advice she gave me."
It remains to be seen what kind of resonance 'We Are Every Day', capturing the last moments of the late Kim Sae-ron, will provide to the audience.
