Comedian Park Na-rae is embroiled in a mudslinging lawsuit with her former managers, while the bizarre situation has emerged where the former managers, who are the subjects of the legal dispute, are still listed as 'inside directors' of the agency.
According to the corporate registry and entertainment industry sources on the 31st, former managers A and B of Park Na-rae are currently engaged in civil and criminal lawsuits against their agency 'N Park', yet they still maintain their positions as key executives on paper. This has resulted in a farcical situation where they remain as 'co-directors' in the registry despite their hostile relationship, exchanging sharp barbs at each other.
A and B were appointed as inside directors in September last year, but they resigned just two months later in November, claiming workplace harassment and unfair treatment. However, even after their resignation, the cancellation of their registered director positions has not been processed to this day. In response, A's side stated, "We have long left the company, so we cannot understand why we are still listed as directors," and added, "The cancellation of the registration is the responsibility of Park Na-rae's side, the company."
Industry insiders point to this situation as the 'true face of the one-person agency system'. The administrative gap, where even basic corporate registration has not been organized, has been revealed, and it has come to light that N Park has not even registered as a public cultural arts planning business, intensifying the controversy. Park Na-rae's side has explained, "We currently do not have the capacity to take administrative action," but it seems difficult to avoid criticism regarding mismanagement.
Currently, the conflict between both sides has reached its peak. The former managers have filed for damages amounting to 100 million won, citing workplace harassment and proxy prescriptions, while Park Na-rae's side has countered, claiming this is extortion based on false facts, and has responded strongly with charges of attempted extortion and embezzlement.
To make matters worse, Park Na-rae recently revealed that she is attending a makgeolli brewing academy, facing public backlash. At a time when self-reflection is required due to various legal disputes and allegations, her actions related to 'alcohol', which had been at the center of past controversies, have been criticized as inappropriate, further cooling public sentiment.
