"I participated in the investigation sincerely and clarified the parts that are not true."
Broadcaster Park Na-rae, who is embroiled in allegations of manager abuse and illegal medical practices, appeared before the police as a suspect and underwent an intense investigation lasting about 8 hours. This is the first time Ms. Park has been questioned by investigative authorities since the related allegations were raised.
On the 20th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul summoned Ms. Park as a suspect in a special injury case and conducted the investigation from 3 PM to 10:40 PM. After finishing the late-night investigation, Ms. Park bowed her head and apologized to reporters, saying, "I am sorry for causing concern due to personal matters."
Regarding the most contentious allegation of 'throwing a glass at her former manager', Ms. Park stated, "This will be clarified through the investigation," while emphasizing, "I have sufficiently clarified the parts that are not true and plan to correct them." However, when asked if there were specific facts or messages to convey to the managers, she remained reserved and showed a firm attitude.
Currently, both sides are in a tense standoff. The former managers have filed a complaint against Ms. Park for special injury and defamation, claiming that she forced them to run personal errands and injured them by throwing a glass. In response, Ms. Park's side has counter-sued the former managers for attempted extortion and embezzlement in the course of business, continuing their legal response.
In addition to the abuse of power allegations, the police are also investigating claims that Ms. Park received illegal medical treatments at her home through the so-called 'Injection Aunt'. Based on Ms. Park's statements obtained that day, the police plan to compare them with the claims of the complainants and decide on further investigations and the direction of handling her case.
