Kim Seon-tae, the official who brought Chungju City's official YouTube channel 'ChungTV' to national stardom, has directly addressed the recent rumors regarding his resignation.
On the 16th, Kim dismissed various speculations raised after submitting his resignation through the Chungju City YouTube community. He stated, "Resigning is a decision for personal goal achievement and new challenges," and clarified that the rumors of bullying within the organization or conflicts with specific individuals are completely unfounded.
Previously, on the 13th, Kim submitted his resignation and went on a long vacation, and he is expected to be officially processed as a resignation on the 28th. He expressed, "I feel sorry that my resignation has led to unfounded criticism of my fellow public officials," urging restraint on unverified speculation.
Meanwhile, as Kim's resignation became official, 'ChungTV' is experiencing a serious subscriber loss phenomenon. The subscriber count, which was once close to 1 million, plummeted to 799,000 as of the afternoon of the 16th, causing the 800,000 mark to collapse.
A Chungju City official stated, "Even considering the absence of a key figure, subscribers are leaving at a much faster rate than expected, creating an internally perplexing atmosphere."
