"Blue House? It was just a simple tea time without any specific proposal."
Kim Seon-tae, known as the 'Chungju Man' and emerging as an icon of innovation in the public service sector, recently spoke out about the rumors regarding recruitment at the Blue House. He clearly stated that the reports were not true.
In a media interview on the 19th, Kim stated, "It was just a tea time where I was asked if I was interested in public service when I was called to meet," and clarified, "I have never been offered a specific position." At that time, he reportedly responded, "I don't think it's the time to consider myself as a public servant yet."
He grew the official Chungju City YouTube channel 'ChungTV' into a large channel with 970,000 subscribers and made headlines by rapidly advancing to a level 6 position in just seven years. However, he submitted his resignation letter on the 12th and is expected to be processed as a voluntary resignation on the 28th after using up his remaining vacation.
With the news of his resignation, rumors about joining the election camp of former Chungju Mayor Jo Gil-hyung for the Chungbuk governor race also surfaced, but Kim denied these claims entirely. He emphasized, "I have not considered it at all," and added, "The news of my resignation was revealed earlier than expected, leading to speculation, but I want to rest without any consideration until the 28th."
Regarding the background of his resignation, he explained, "I wanted to take on new challenges that I couldn't pursue while in public office." As for his future plans, he added, "I plan to slowly think about specific directions for personal content creation and more after March."
Meanwhile, Kim bid farewell through the last video of ChungTV on the 13th. He also clarified that the rumors of conflicts within the organization are unfounded and reaffirmed that this decision is a personal choice for new challenges.
