Singer and producer MC Mong is causing a major stir in the entertainment industry as he faces dual crises of prostitution allegations and proxy prescription of psychotropic drugs.
According to a report from TV CHOSUN's 'Shintongbangtong' on the 4th, CCTV footage revealing MC Mong's involvement in prostitution was released through the YouTube channel 'Jirijirit'. The footage clearly shows three women, presumed to be workers from entertainment establishments, taking the elevator with a man to MC Mong's home around 11 PM.
This incident began with reports from apartment residents. Residents living in the same complex continuously filed complaints with the management office, stating that they suspected prostitution was occurring within the complex. It is reported that the management office checked the CCTV to ascertain the facts, leading to the acquisition of the footage.
When reporters demanded an explanation based on the footage, MC Mong's side initially denied the allegations, but when evidence was presented, they reportedly stated, "I will acknowledge to some extent and step back".
MC Mong explained, "I was just having dinner with acquaintances and enjoying a wine party," and refuted, "Just because one of the people present was a worker from an entertainment establishment does not mean everyone engaged in prostitution." However, circumstances indicating that he has effectively admitted to part of the allegations have intensified the controversy.
To make matters worse, MC Mong is also facing allegations of violating drug control laws. He is accused of using his manager's name to obtain a proxy prescription for the psychotropic drug Zolpidem, raising the possibility of legal penalties.
After repeatedly returning and reflecting on his actions following past military service evasion controversies, MC Mong is now embroiled in the serious issue of 'prostitution and drug allegations', drawing public attention to his future actions.
