Actress Moon Soo-young made a shocking transformation into the villain Lim Dong-hyun, who is consumed by greed and anxiety, in SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Taxi Driver 3', exuding an intense presence.
Moon Soo-young played the role of Lim Dong-hyun, who is pursued by Rainbow Transportation while uncovering the secrets of a 15-year-old incident, in episodes 5 and 6 of 'Taxi Driver 3' aired on December 5 and 6.
Lim Dong-hyun is a character who served 5 months in prison for assaulting his volleyball teammate Park Min-ho (played by Lee Do-han) at Jin-gwang University 15 years ago. After his release, he appears to run a gym on the surface, but behind that facade, he is the central figure of illegal gambling and match-fixing.
Lim Dong-hyun left a strong first impression on viewers with a scene where he coldly confronted Park Min-ho's father in front of the courthouse, accompanied by several lawyers. After 15 years, through the surveillance of Rainbow Transportation, it was revealed that he was frequenting an illegal gambling den disguised as a funeral home and accumulating debt using the officetel he owned right after his release, exposing his dual nature.
Subsequently, a tense development unfolded as Rainbow Transportation and Lim Dong-hyun faced off in gambling. Lim Dong-hyun, caught up in the operation of Rainbow Transportation's gambler Choi Joo-im (played by Jang Hyuk-jin) and beginner gambler Kim Do-gi (played by Lee Je-hoon), found himself cornered, even putting his gym up as collateral. Ultimately, it was revealed that he had been engaging in match-fixing with his friend and the volleyball coach at Jin-gwang University, Jo Sung-wook (played by Shin Joo-hwan), in a secret space in the gym's president's office, raising the tension of the drama to its peak.
Moon Soo-young captured the complex inner world of Lim Dong-hyun, intertwined with greed and anxiety, providing a high level of immersion. In particular, during the gambling scenes, she realistically portrayed the character's precarious state with delicate expressions that fluctuated between bravado and anxiety, as well as a habit of biting her nails. Additionally, she received praise for successfully expressing the flow of Lim Dong-hyun's complex emotions by controlling the rising energy and emotional lines that changed between the past and present narrative.
