Singer Jennie has launched strong legal action against violations of her personal rights and the malicious re-editing of videos. On the 18th, Jennie's agency, OA Entertainment, said in an official statement that it was taking a stern response to groundless attacks, the spread of false information, and the malicious editing and manipulation of photos and videos targeting its artist.

The agency said malicious activity has recently continued online, including distorting Jennie's physical features, repeatedly circulating portions of specific photos and videos, and adding insulting language. It has retained specialized legal counsel and is pursuing civil and criminal proceedings, making clear that it will respond firmly to every act that infringes on the artist's rights and interests.

The action is closely related to the recent circulation of video connected to the Summer Sonic 2026 performance. After the music festival was held on the 14th at ZOZO Marine Stadium in Chiba, Japan, an unidentified video circulated online that was staged to make it appear that part of Jennie's body had been exposed. It has not been confirmed whether the footage showed a real scene or was a deepfake manipulated using artificial intelligence and other technology. But the malicious post drew widespread outrage because it seriously damaged the artist's image.

"Protecting artist and fans is our top priority" — Agency vows to pursue legal accountability under zero-tolerance policy

OA Entertainment made clear that it would apply a zero-tolerance policy to the matter. The agency vowed that there would be no settlement or leniency under any circumstances and declared that it would pursue legal accountability against those who maliciously circulated the material to the end.

The agency also said fans' continued reports have played a decisive role in protecting the artist and pledged to continue its close review and legal response based on the materials submitted. Through systematic monitoring, it said it would protect Jennie's personal rights while also preventing the psychological harm fans could suffer.

As Jennie, who continues her active career as a global star, declares an all-out war on maliciously altered content and false information, the move is expected to heighten awareness of similar infringements on entertainers' rights in the future.
