BTS member V made a sweeping confession that he has been battling and receiving treatment for hearing problems in his right ear for roughly two and a half years. V shared the heartfelt admission while communicating with fans alongside Jungkook during a Weverse Live broadcast following his concert in Baltimore, United States, on the 12th (local time).
V said there was a story he had not been able to tell ARMY until now, adding that his ear condition has not been good since about two and a half years ago. According to V’s explanation, if his left ear hearing were at a 100% level, his right ear hearing would be only around 30%.
V said that when his symptoms worsened further during his service in the Special Duty Team (SDT), he had endured them at the time, dismissing it as a simple issue of mental strength due to the surrounding environment. He added that after completing his discharge in June 2025, he has continued steady treatment by taking medicine and visiting hospitals as well, even amid overseas tour schedules.
‘Fighting With Yourself Matters’—Warm Comfort and Life Philosophy V Shared With Fans
While enduring the pain of hearing loss, V kept his passion for music and also shared a deep philosophy about life with his fans. When a fan asked him to offer one piece of advice that could help in life, V addressed the idea of living without comparisons.
V emphasized that the key is not to envy other people’s abilities or economic circumstances, and instead to keep each person’s own tempo. Rather than becoming impatient by comparing himself to others, he urged fans to focus on the fight with themselves in their own lives—saying that this is more precious than anything.
In response to V’s confession about silently holding his ground on stage even in difficult circumstances, fans around the world are sending messages of warm support wishing for his recovery and showing deep resonance with his mature outlook on life.
