Rookie girl group Our Birthday (OURBIRTHDAY) officially entered the music industry, introducing the beginning of its distinctive musical world. At its debut showcase on the 19th at the Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Our Birthday performed “Squeezy,” the title track from its first digital single, “Our Birthday,” for the first time.
Our Birthday is a seven-member group led by Jo Hye-jin, the winner of KBS2’s “The Ddanddara,” and includes Yu, who placed third on the same program; Shin Hye-won, who appeared on JTBC’s “R U Next?”; and Guk Cho-rok, Baby, Archiraya and Kirara. The group’s name reflects its ambition to bring energy that is as special and free-spirited as a birthday every day.
Member Kirara said she was happy that the seven members had come together for a new beginning and vowed to show the unique appeal of Our Birthday. Shin Hye-won added that the group would present music that creates an atmosphere uniquely its own.

Our Birthday’s signature genre, “Whiphop,” blends freewheeling energy with hip-hop performance. Shin Hye-won described Whiphop as a distinctive genre unique to the group, but added that the members plan to take on various genres in the future to show the public a wider range of their talents.
On the attention surrounding them as JYP Entertainment rookies, Archiraya said the pressure to live up to their seniors’ reputation would serve as positive motivation. Producer J.Y. Park also offered warm advice, stressing that mutual respect and honest communication are essential for a long career.
Guk Cho-rok said she hoped the public would remember the group simply by the name Our Birthday. Armed with unmatched individuality and powerful performances, Our Birthday has set its sights on the rookie award. The group’s debut release will be available on various music streaming services beginning at 6 p.m. on the 19th.
