SBS's new variety show 'But Really!' is making headlines with its cast's unfiltered revelations ahead of its first broadcast. During the online production presentation held on the 2nd, Tak Jae-hoon, Lee Sang-min, Lee Soo-ji, and EXO's Kai attended to share behind-the-scenes stories of the program.
'But Really!' is a real character talk show created by CP Kwak Seung-young and PD Seo Ha-yeon, who also planned 'My Ugly Duckling'. The show declares its differentiation from existing talk shows with a unique format that allows the cast to switch between their real character (main character) and sub-character.
The center of attention that day was the 'bickering' chemistry between Tak Jae-hoon and Lee Sang-min. Tak Jae-hoon humorously blamed Lee Sang-min for the cancellation of the popular program 'Dolsingpoman', turning the venue into a sea of laughter. He stated, "The disappearance of Dolsingpoman is entirely Lee Sang-min's fault," adding, "I'm scared to be working with the 'program killer' again, but it feels like a gift from God to be able to work again."
In response, Lee Sang-min expressed, "It's tough that Tak Jae-hoon blames me for the program's cancellation every week," but he cleverly countered. He said, "I felt a lot of guilt when the program ended right after my wedding last year, but with this new job success, I feel relieved in front of my wife," and added, "I felt confident in joining due to the new format that combines skits and talk."
The determination of the new members to bring fresh energy was also remarkable. The only female member, Lee Soo-ji, stated, "I came to learn from award-winning Lee Sang-min," hinting at the essence of chaotic talks that switch between main and sub-characters. EXO's Kai, a variety show rookie, also expressed, "It's surprising to see the older guys focusing more on their own fun than on the guests, but that makes the atmosphere enjoyable," revealing his excitement for his first fixed variety show on SBS.
Tak Jae-hoon's cynical remarks and the discord among the members are expected to be key viewing points. The peculiar chemistry of the four will be showcased in 'But Really!', which premieres on the 2nd at 10:10 PM.
