Seungri, a former member of the group Big Bang, is embroiled in controversy over allegations that he was preparing illegal businesses in Cambodia.

On the 20th, a video titled "Exclusive Investigation Files of Reporter Oh Hyuk-jin Featuring Hwang Hana, Seungri, and Park Yoo-chun" was uploaded to reporter Oh Hyuk-jin's YouTube channel, Jirijiri. In the video, reporter Oh detailed Seungri's recent activities, revealing that he has been in close contact with local criminal organizations.

According to reporter Oh, there have been reports that Seungri is currently enjoying parties with executives from Cambodia's criminal syndicates, including money launderers, voice phishing members, and casino-related figures. He analyzed that Seungri seems to be attempting to establish a business model similar to the second Burning Sun in Cambodia with these individuals.

However, the process of promoting the business has not been smooth. Reporter Oh added that local figures who could have materially supported Seungri have been arrested and are facing extradition to China, raising doubts about whether there are any backers left who can provide substantial help to Seungri.

Additionally, there are indications that Seungri is targeting the Southeast Asian market to avoid negative public opinion in South Korea. Reporter Oh stated that while Seungri has completely lost public trust in Korea, he still has recognition as a former member of Big Bang in Southeast Asia, which he seems to be trying to leverage for illegal businesses. It is reported that Seungri is currently living primarily between Cambodia and Thailand.

Meanwhile, our government is ramping up efforts to eradicate criminal organizations in Cambodia. Last November, the government established a Korea Task Force in cooperation with Cambodian police and has been focusing on cracking down on local scam syndicates. So far, they have rescued three South Koreans and apprehended 157 individuals involved in scam crimes.

As crimes related to South Koreans in Southeast Asia emerge as a social issue, the allegations of Seungri's involvement in criminal activities, being a former celebrity, have drawn significant attention to the future actions of investigative authorities.
