Hani, a member of the girl group NewJeans, has decided to continue her contract with the agency Ador, while member Daniel has received a notice of contract termination from the agency.
On the 29th, Ador, a label under HYBE, announced through an official statement that member Hani has decided to stay with Ador. Ador explained that Hani visited Korea with her family and had a long and in-depth conversation, and after sincere discussions, they agreed to respect the court's ruling and remain with Ador.
In contrast, a different outcome has emerged regarding member Daniel's situation. Ador stated that they determined it would be difficult for Daniel to continue as a member of NewJeans and as an affiliated artist, and therefore, they notified him of the contract termination today. In particular, Ador expressed a strong stance that they would hold legal responsibility against one family member of Daniel, who is deemed to have caused this dispute and significantly contributed to the members' departures and delays in their return, as well as against former representative Min Hee-jin.
Another member, Minji, is currently in the process of ongoing discussions with Ador. Ador added that they are engaged in conversations to broaden mutual understanding with Minji and are doing their best to resolve the matter amicably.
Previously, in November, members Haerin and Hyein decided to adhere to their contracts with Ador, and with Hani's confirmation to stay, the future activities of NewJeans members are gradually becoming clearer. Ador has secured legal legitimacy by winning a lawsuit confirming the validity of the contracts against the five members of NewJeans in October.
An Ador representative emphasized that they will smoothly conclude the remaining processes so that NewJeans can return to their fans as soon as possible. The differing choices of each member and the agency's strong response are drawing attention to what impact this will have on the music industry in the future.
