Global pop icon BTS has made a stunning return with the release of their 5th studio album 'Arirang' to audiences worldwide.
BTS released their new album via major music streaming sites at 1 PM on the 20th and revealed the music video for the title track 'SWIM'. This music video was filmed against the backdrop of the vast seas of Lisbon, Portugal, and captivated the public with its massive scale, featuring real ships and intricate sets.
A cinematic narrative and stunning visuals
The released music video unfolds on a massive ship sailing the endless sea. In support of the protagonist, who endures frustration and confusion, all seven members of BTS appear as helpers. The members silently support her by steering the wheel and raising the anchor, aiding her escape from the shackles of oppression to embark on a new journey.
Notably, Hollywood actress Lili Reinhart stars in the lead role, enhancing immersion with her delicate emotional portrayal. The direction is led by world-renowned music video director Tanu Moino, who created a mise-en-scène comparable to that of a film. The management company HYBE Labels added that viewers will witness a more mature version of BTS.
Produced by Bang Si-hyuk, singing of love for life
The new album 'Arirang' is a blend of BTS's unique identity and universal emotions, elevated in musical integrity by the overall production of Bang Si-hyuk. The title track 'SWIM' falls under the alternative pop genre and embodies a resolute will to keep moving forward despite the rough waves of life.
On the 21st at 8 PM, BTS will hold 'BTS Comeback Live Special: ARIRANG' at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, where they will present the stage for their new song for the first time.
