
Legendary rock band Sinawi's former vocalist Kim Bada has been arrested by the police on charges of possessing and using marijuana.
According to the music industry and police on the 9th, the Sokcho Police Station in Gangwon Province has arrested Kim Bada on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act and is currently investigating him. After receiving intelligence regarding Kim Bada's marijuana use, the police apprehended him at a residence in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, after approximately two months of persistent tracking and investigation.
During the investigation, it was determined that Kim Bada acknowledged a significant portion of his charges. The police are currently intensively questioning Kim Bada about the source of the marijuana and whether he has used it again.
Kim Bada debuted in 1995 with the group Bank and gained public recognition after joining Sinawi as the fifth vocalist in the same year. He served as the main vocalist from Sinawi's 5.5 album to the 7th album, receiving support from rock music fans with his unique vocal tone. He has since expanded his recognition through various band activities, including Butterfly Effect and Lasius, as well as appearances on terrestrial music entertainment programs.
As he currently leads a band named after himself, this drug scandal has raised alarms for his future activities. Adjustments to schedules for major music festivals, including the Seoul Hero Rock Festival X 300, scheduled for next month, are now unavoidable.
