Singer Jo Jae-ju has become the center of attention by revealing his glamorous connections, including BLACKPINK's Jennie, at his first overseas awards ceremony.
On the 4th, Jo Jae-ju's YouTube channel posted a video documenting his experience attending the 'Golden Disc Awards' for the first time. Arriving at the airport early in the morning, Jo Jae-ju announced that he was invited as a nominee for the Rookie of the Year and Digital Song categories, jokingly stating that he might be the 'oldest nominee' among the impressive lineup, which brought laughter.
The highlight of this video was the interview mission with a senior artist. Jo Jae-ju revealed that the interview subject was BLACKPINK's Jennie, expressing that he felt more nervous than during the performance. However, when he actually met Jennie, she casually spoke informally to Jo Jae-ju, surprising everyone as they greeted each other.
As the formal interview began, Jo Jae-ju treated Jennie, who has been in the industry for 11 years, with great respect as a rookie in his second year. Jennie responded, saying, "It's new to meet you all dressed up." Jo Jae-ju explained, "The public doesn't know that we are close, so I showed respect," to which Jennie cleverly replied, "Please continue to treat me with respect in the future," proving their strong 'true friends' relationship.
Jo Jae-ju's connections didn't stop there. As the owner of a jazz bar in Hannam-dong, he had warm reunions with fellow artists throughout the awards venue. He introduced Ateez's Mingi as "a senior and drinking buddy," and shared a heartfelt hug with Annie from All Day Project, openly revealing their close relationship.
As a successful jazz musician and singer, Jo Jae-ju made a strong impression not only with his musical talent but also as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry through his attendance at this Golden Disc Awards.
