'Love Catcher' alum Ahn Yoo-jung has officially begun her acting journey.
Coco Media, which possesses global production know-how, has launched its first Korean version of the short drama 'The Secret of Her Dazzling Beauty' and is targeting the short-form drama market. On the 28th, Coco Media held a press conference at its headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul, announcing the simultaneous release of all episodes of the work.
Present at the event were lead actors Ahn Yoo-jung and Cha Yoo-hyun, along with CEO of Coco Media, Noh Kyung-ho. Notably, Ahn Yoo-jung drew attention last November with the news of her romance with broadcaster Yoo Byung-jae, making her first lead challenge and acting transformation even more noteworthy.
'The Secret of Her Dazzling Beauty' is a 78-episode emotional romance short drama that depicts the process of a contract relationship between two individuals that begins with a fake marriage transforming into true love. All episodes have been simultaneously released on global short-form platforms NetShot, ReelShot, and DramaBox since 5 PM on the 28th, connecting with viewers worldwide.
Ahn Yoo-jung, who gained recognition for her appearance in 'Love Catcher in Bali', plays the role of 'Jang Yoo-na', who carves out her own independent life. She expressed, "I was attracted to the character who moves forward with her own beliefs without relying on anyone," and added, "I focused on my role by faithfully executing the director's direction and letting go of my influencer image."
Cha Yoo-hyun, who played the counterpart 'Lee Seo-jin', expressed satisfaction with the chemistry with Ahn Yoo-jung. Cha Yoo-hyun shared, "Except for going to the bathroom during filming, we were always together," and noted, "Despite Ahn Yoo-jung's cold first impression, she was bright and playful, allowing us to finish filming joyfully," raising expectations for their 'romantic chemistry'.
Noh Kyung-ho, CEO of Coco Media, explained, "We borrowed the efficient production structure of overseas short dramas but removed stimulating elements to fit Korean sentiments." He added, "I hope short dramas become a new communication channel that meets the changing viewer environment that desires strong immersion in a short time."
