#1 in 116 Countries... A New History of 'K-Romantic Comedy'
Channel A's weekend drama 'A Baby Has Arrived' is creating a global box office sensation. Since its first broadcast on the 17th, it has recorded the number one viewer count in 116 countries worldwide, including the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, proving the strength of 'K-Romantic Comedy'.
According to the global OTT platform Rakuten Viki, this work dominated the weekly rankings across major continents in its first week of airing. It has also claimed the top spot in the Korean Wave drama rankings on Japan's U-NEXT for two consecutive weeks, creating a cross-border syndrome.
A Fate That Began with a One-Night Mistake, and a Love Triangle
The drama depicts a 'reverse romance' that begins with a one-night escapade between Doo-jun (played by Choi Jin-hyuk) and Hee-won (played by Oh Yeon-seo). As their precarious relationship as boss and employee stimulates viewers' dopamine, the entrance of Hee-won's 15-year friend, Cha Min-wook (played by Hong Jong-hyun), raises the tension to its peak.
The released still cuts capture the tension of the calm before the storm. The three men and women face each other in the confined space of an elevator. The sharp exchange of glances between Doo-jun and Min-wook, who are both vying for Hee-won's attention, hints at a fierce psychological battle that goes beyond mere jealousy. Hee-won's anxiousness and the subtle psychological warfare between the two men who are strongly keeping each other in check are expected to be the highlights of this episode.
The production team stated, "Min-wook's full-fledged appearance will be a catalyst for the relationship between Doo-jun and Hee-won," adding, "Please look forward to the beginning of a love triangle that will simultaneously provide excitement and tension." Meanwhile, the unpredictable developments that have captured global fans' hearts will continue with 'A Baby Has Arrived' airing its 5th episode on the 31st at 10:30 PM.
