Broadcaster Park Na-rae's side has identified circumstances in which former managers embezzled corporate funds and plans to file a counterclaim for violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement). As the former managers have filed a lawsuit against Park Na-rae for special injury and defamation by false facts, the legal battle between the two sides is intensifying as Park Na-rae's side retaliates with a counterclaim.
On the 6th, Ilgan Sports reported, citing a representative from Park Na-rae's side, that they have confirmed the embezzlement of corporate funds by former managers A and B and plan to sue them for embezzlement. Currently, Park Na-rae's side has accused them of extortion, claiming that they demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of the company's revenue from the previous year after receiving their severance pay.
Previously, Park Na-rae's former managers filed a lawsuit against her for special injury, defamation by false facts, and violation of the Information and Communications Network Act. They claimed that Park Na-rae committed several illegal acts, including special injury, workplace harassment, sexual harassment, proxy prescription, and delays in personal expense payments. Additionally, on the 3rd, they applied to the court for a provisional seizure of real estate against Park Na-rae, warning of a damage claim amounting to 100 million won.
In particular, the former managers alleged that Park Na-rae used company funds for personal purposes and revealed specific details. They accused her of falsely registering her ex-boyfriend C as a formal employee, resulting in a total payment of over 44 million won for about 11 months from January of this year, and also paying her mother a total of over 55 million won for a period during which she did not work. Furthermore, they claimed that Park Na-rae used company funds for personal expenses, including 300 million won for C's jeonse deposit and over 100 million won for personal expenditures.
In response, Park Na-rae's agency, Anpark, issued an official statement on the 5th, refuting the claims of the former managers. Anpark stated, "The former managers demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of the company's revenue from the previous year after receiving their severance pay," and claimed, "The demanded amount has gradually increased to several hundred million won." The agency emphasized that "the suspicions raised by some media will be clarified through future legal procedures," suggesting that the truth will be revealed in court.
