
Comedian Park Na-rae is embroiled in controversy as multiple former managers have accused her of 'power abuse' and have applied for a property seizure. Park Na-rae's side has not yet released an official statement.
According to the broadcasting industry on the 5th, Park Na-rae's agency stated that they are "discussing with a law firm" regarding the power abuse allegations and property seizure application raised by former managers, and will announce their position later.
According to a report by Dispatch on the same day, Park Na-rae's former managers claimed they suffered verbal abuse, injury, and harassment from her, and announced a lawsuit for damages amounting to 100 million won, applying for a seizure of Park Na-rae's real estate at the Seoul Western District Court.
The former managers are accusing Park Na-rae of workplace harassment, verbal abuse, special injury, proxy prescriptions, and unpaid progress fees. They added that she used them like 'household helpers' by making them run errands for snacks, clean up after parties, and even handle personal family matters, causing shock.
After these allegations were raised, it was also revealed that Park Na-rae's one-person agency, Npark, is not registered as a cultural and arts planning business.
Park Na-rae debuted as a comedian in the 21st KBS open recruitment and gained great popularity through MBC entertainment programs 'I Live Alone' and 'Save Me! Holmes'. In 2019, she won the Grand Prize at the MBC Entertainment Awards and the following year, she won the Best Female Entertainer Award in the TV category at the Baeksang Arts Awards, establishing herself as a leading comedian.
Meanwhile, due to the impact of this controversy, the filming schedule for the broadcast program Park Na-rae was scheduled to appear in has been canceled. According to the broadcasting industry on the same day, the production team of the new MBC entertainment program 'I'm Excited Too' informed the cast the previous afternoon that the filming scheduled for that day was canceled. 'I'm Excited Too' is a variety show where Park Na-rae travels with her 19-year comedian friends Jang Do-yeon, Shin Ki-ru, and Heo Anna, aiming to air next January.
