As the new year begins, Megabox is summoning legendary masterpieces that will make the audience's hearts race again in Dolby Cinema. Megabox announced that it has selected 'The First Slam Dunk' and 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' as its January screenings, promising a cinema experience like no other.
First, on 14th, 'The First Slam Dunk', which stirred nostalgia for the 30-40 age group and created a phenomenon, will return to the audience on its 3rd anniversary. This screening will take place in Dolby Cinema and Dolby Vision & Atmos theaters. The passionate challenges of the five members of North Mountain High School will be revived with the vivid colors of Dolby Vision, and the sounds of dribbling cutting through the court and the cheers of the crowd will maximize the sense of presence as if one were actually in the stadium through Dolby Atmos.
Then, on 21st, the masterpiece of fantasy blockbusters, 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King', will be screened in special theaters. The grand battle scenes and vast natural landscapes of this Academy Award-winning film with 11 Oscars will be even more overwhelmingly realized through the deep contrast of Dolby Vision. In particular, the soundtrack that peaks the epic saga and the thunderous sounds of battle will provide the audience with a deep thrill through spatial sound.
To celebrate this re-release, Megabox has also prepared special benefits. Audiences of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' in Dolby Cinema will receive Dolby posters on a first-come, first-served basis. Detailed information about reservations and events can be found on the Megabox website and mobile app.
Meanwhile, Dolby Cinema combines the visually vibrant 'Dolby Vision' with the three-dimensional sound technology 'Dolby Atmos' to provide the best immersion for the audience. Currently, Megabox operates Dolby Cinema in 8 locations nationwide, including COEX, Anseong Starfield, and Daegu Shinsegae, and Dolby Vision & Atmos dedicated theaters in 4 locations, including the East Pole branch in Gu.
