"We remember the hero who cut off her finger to write a blood oath and cried out for independence."

On the occasion of the 107th anniversary of March 1st, actress Song Hye-kyo and Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University have once again joined forces. This time, they produced a video honoring the noble life of female independence activist Nam Ja-hyun and released it to the world.

On the 1st, Professor Seo's team announced the distribution of a multilingual video titled 'A Female Independence Activist Who Broke the Mold of the Era, Nam Ja-hyun.' This 4-minute video was planned and overseen by Professor Seo, with Song Hye-kyo fully sponsoring the production costs, adding significance to the project. The video is produced with narration in both Korean and English and is being shared with internet users worldwide through YouTube and various social media platforms.

The video details the fierce independence struggle of Nam Ja-hyun. After participating in the March 1st Movement in Seoul, she went into exile in Manchuria at the considerable age of 47 to devote herself to the independence movement.

In particular, this video focuses on highlighting Nam's strong will for independence. She wrote a blood oath for the unity of independence movement organizations, and when Japan established a puppet state in Manchuria, she cut off her unknown name to write a blood oath titled 'Korean Independence Wish' (朝鮮獨立願) and delivered it to the League of Nations.

Professor Seo Kyung-duk stated, "I wanted to shed light on the lives of female independence activists who are relatively less known to the public," and added, "This is the sixth series following Jeong Jeong-hwa, Yoon Hee-soon, Kim Maria, Park Cha-jeong, and Kim Hyang-hwa." He continued, "We plan to consistently produce multilingual videos to widely inform about female independence heroes in the future."

The 'Good Influence' that has continued for 15 years is also gaining attention. For the past 15 years, Song Hye-kyo and Professor Seo have been at the forefront of promoting history by donating Korean guides, Korean signs, and relief works to 37 sites of Korean independence movement heritage around the world.

This video, released on a historic day, reflects on the noble sacrifices of forgotten independence heroes and resonates deeply both domestically and internationally.
