The police have launched a full-scale investigation into the special injury charges against broadcaster Park Na-rae, which is expected to carry the heaviest penalties among the various controversies surrounding her. As the former manager submitted a medical certificate for injuries and Park Na-rae's side firmly denies the allegations, testimonies from friends who were present at the scene are expected to be a decisive factor in revealing the truth of the incident.

According to the Gangnam Police Station, this incident reportedly occurred in August 2023. The complainant, the former manager, claims that while drinking together, Park Na-rae threw a glass at his face, resulting in bruises and cuts on his face and hand from the broken glass, requiring four stitches. The former manager recently submitted a medical certificate indicating two weeks of treatment and a confirmation of treatment as evidence to the police.

The special injury charge is classified as a serious crime that can result in imprisonment of more than one year and up to ten years without a fine. If the charges are proven, it is widely believed that Park Na-rae's return to the entertainment industry could become virtually impossible.

Park Na-rae's side strongly denies these claims. They assert that there was no act of throwing a glass that caused injury, and while there was an instance of throwing a glass on the floor in the past, it was only cleaned up by the former manager and a friend at that time. As the claims from both sides are sharply contrasting, the police have determined that the existence of the medical certificate alone is insufficient to prove the charges, and they plan to summon the other two friends who were present at the four-person drinking party as witnesses for questioning soon.

Currently, in addition to the special injury charge, Park Na-rae is involved in a total of seven legal disputes and controversies, including embezzlement, real estate seizure, and illegal medical practices. In particular, the controversy surrounding the unlicensed medical practice of injections has led to the suspension of activities for fellow entertainer SHINee's Key and YouTuber Lip Short Sun, causing a ripple effect. In relation to this violation of medical laws, the police have imposed a travel ban on a person known as the injection aunt and are investigating whether there are violations of drug management laws.

After completing the investigation of the complainant, the police plan to summon Park Na-rae as a defendant soon to conduct a focused investigation regarding the glass-throwing incident and the proof of injury.
