Coupang Play announced that it will release its new original series, “An Affair Isn’t the Problem,” starring Kim Hye-soo and Jo Yeo-jeong, on the 31st at 8 p.m.
The series tells the story of a neighbor couple locked in an intense divorce battle with a famous influencer couple that has paraded a perfect home while building wealth and prestige. It is a black-comedy thriller that depicts, in vivid detail, how the two become tangled in shocking secrets that they cannot share with anyone and spiral out of control.
In the drama, Kim Hye-soo plays Kyung-hee, a well-known influencer who performs a perfect family life in front of the camera, delivering an overwhelming presence. Jo Yeo-jeong takes on the role of Soo-jeong, a dermatologist clinic director who appears to live a refined life but burns from the inside, and goes head-to-head with Kim Hye-soo in a taut acting showdown. Joining them are Kim Ji-hoon as Jae-hong, Kyung-hee’s younger husband, bringing a daring romance angle, and Kim Jae-cheol as Boseong, Soo-jeong’s husband who is in the midst of a divorce lawsuit, adding to the tension.

“An Affair Isn’t the Problem” attracted hot interest from the TV industry not only for its flashy casting, but also for the arrival of a world-class production team that drew attention from the planning stage.
Hwang Dong-hyuk, who directed Netflix’s “Squid Game,” joined as a creator to raise the overall level of completion. Meanwhile, Lee Chang-hee, who showed off a sensibility-driven mise-en-scene through “Killer Suspects” and “The Others Are in Hell,” took the director’s chair, setting expectations for the birth of a well-crafted, brutal thriller.
