TV Chosun's Mistrot 4 showcased overwhelming power by recording double-digit viewership ratings from its first broadcast. According to Nielsen Korea on the 19th, Mistrot 4, which was first aired the previous day, achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 10.8%, with a peak rating soaring to 11.4%. This performance ranks first among all programs broadcast on that day, proving the public's intense interest in the birth of a new queen of trot.
This season is armed with a more rigorous judging system and a glamorous cast. A record number of 20 masters participated in the judging, and a new all-heart system was introduced, requiring all 20 to give a heart for immediate acceptance. Additionally, the final round has been condensed from the previous TOP 7 to a TOP 5 system, and the selected TOP 5 will receive a groundbreaking benefit of a new group song composed and produced by master Jang Yoon-jung.
In the master preliminary round, new faces in each category overwhelmed the stage. In the college division, the visually appealing and vocally talented Gil Ryeo-won received all hearts, making a strong impression, while performances from skilled participants like Yoo Soo-bi and Yoon Ye-won followed without any flaws. Notably, the youth division's performance stood out. Bae Seo-yeon, Jeon Ha-yoon, and Yoon Yoon-seo, who has 1.05 million subscribers, consecutively recorded all hearts, and Kim Soo-bin, who returned from Mistrot 2 after five years, also received high praise from the masters with a more mature performance.
The performances from the other genre division and the active division also captured the viewers' attention. Participants with unique backgrounds, such as soprano Park Hong-joo and traditional instrument player Heo Sae-rom, showcased a fresh combination with trot, and Shin Hyun-hee, known as the original artist of "Oppaya," also made her presence felt by receiving all hearts. The perfect performances from veterans like Kim Hye-jin from active division A and Kim Soo-hee from active division X, who concealed her identity, added weight to the competition.
With a large number of participants possessing both skill and star quality emerging from the first broadcast, expectations for future developments are rising. At the end of the broadcast, master Yang Ji-eun was seen shedding tears, heightening curiosity about the identity of the active division X participant and the next episode.
