'I'm Solo' Season 6 Young-sook confessed to battling thyroid cancer and revealed specific symptoms and her current condition.
Young-sook, a participant in the ENA·SBS Plus entertainment program 'I'm Solo' Season 6, announced her battle with thyroid cancer through her social media on the 24th. She stated that she was diagnosed with cancer last January and is currently undergoing detailed tests at a university hospital to confirm whether there is metastasis.
Young-sook shared a photo with band-aids on her neck and collarbone, expressing the physical pain she experiences during the testing process. She said, "The tests are extremely painful. Especially the throat tests, I've done them several times, but every time it hurts so much that I end up in tears," and added, "I sincerely hope it hasn't metastasized to other organs."
In particular, Young-sook detailed the warning symptoms she experienced and alerted the public. She recalled, "Unlike before, my physical strength rapidly declined, and I felt extreme fatigue, making it hard to even have long conversations." She continued, "I only went to the hospital after noticing that my neck was noticeably swollen, and I was confirmed to have cancer through ultrasound and biopsy."
Mentioning that she had previously mistaken her neck pain for a simple cold and neglected it, Young-sook advised, "Do not ignore the signals your body sends and prioritize your health." Currently, she is said to have suspended all work to focus on treatment and childcare while taking a break.
Meanwhile, Young-sook appeared on 'I'm Solo' Season 6 in 2022 and became the final couple with Young-cheol, marrying in July of the same year. A former UX designer at Samsung Electronics, she has one son and one daughter.
