Broadcaster Park Na-rae has completely halted her broadcasting activities amid allegations of abuse of power and legal disputes with her former managers, with the working conditions of her ex-boyfriend's company emerging as a key point of contention, leading to sharply opposing claims from both sides.
The incident began last December when Park Na-rae's former managers announced plans to file a lawsuit for damages, citing workplace harassment and unpaid wages. In particular, the managers claimed that Park Na-rae registered her ex-boyfriend as a false employee to pay him a salary and transferred 300 million won under the pretext of a jeonse deposit, leading to allegations of embezzlement of company funds.
In response, Park Na-rae emphasized in an interview that her ex-boyfriend was a legitimate employee who graduated from a business school and was responsible for actual accounting and contract review work. She stated that the jeonse loan was a normal welfare procedure that had been confirmed by the accounting team and that collateral had been established. On the other hand, the former managers countered that the individual had dropped out of school and that Park Na-rae had been managing the company irresponsibly by treating personal expenses as corporate funds.
As the issue of unpaid wages added to the controversy, public sentiment grew colder. According to messages disclosed by Dispatch, it was revealed that the managers had not received their salaries on time, while significant financial support had been provided to the ex-boyfriend, leading to criticism of discriminatory treatment.
As the controversy spread, past colleagues in the entertainment industry began to re-examine Park Na-rae's romantic history, which had been mentioned on broadcasts. Kian84 expressed concern in a past content that many people around Park Na-rae seemed to have the smell of fraud, and he suspected that her ex-boyfriend might have approached her with the intention of targeting her wealth, alongside Lee Si-eon. Yang Se-hyung also mentioned Park Na-rae's low standards in partners, offering advice filled with concern.
Park Na-rae currently denies all allegations and has countersued her former managers for attempted extortion and embezzlement. Additionally, she is facing her biggest crisis since her debut due to the controversy surrounding illegal medical services, known as the injection aunt controversy. Park Na-rae announced through her social media that she would reflect on her negligence, step down from all programs, and take time for self-reflection.
As investigations proceed, it is expected that it will be determined whether Park Na-rae's management activities were legitimate or if there were improper fund executions as claimed by her former managers, drawing the attention of the entertainment industry and fans.
