
SBS Fri-Sat drama “Kim Bujang” has confirmed a reward vacation in Guam in August thanks to its overwhelmingly strong domestic and international box office performance.
A solo run at a peak 23.1% rating and No. 1 worldwide
After “Kim Bujang” surpassed 20% nationwide viewership within just four episodes, it set a new personal best in its latest run of eight episodes, recording 23.1%. The global response has been just as intense. According to Netflix’s official ranking-tracking site “FlixPatrol,” the show took the No. 1 spot worldwide for three straight weeks in the category of TV shows in non-English languages. Including first-place rankings in 19 countries such as Singapore and Malaysia, it entered the top 10 in 73 countries worldwide, proving the staying power of K-dramas.
Depart for Guam on Aug. 18… Easing the sting of wrapping up with a special broadcast
According to people in the broadcast industry on the 22nd, the show’s key production team and cast will travel to Guam for a reward vacation from Aug. 18 to 21 on a three-night, four-day schedule to celebrate the hit’s success. Many of the stars behind the phenomenon, including So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho, Son Na-eun, and Joo Sang-wook, are expected to attend and raise a toast.
The revenge-action drama “Kim Bujang,” in which an ordinary father launches a ruthless campaign to save his daughter, will end on the 25th with a total of 10 episodes. The production team plans to add special episodes and air them on July 31 and Aug. 1, aiming to repay the viewers’ enthusiastic support.
