Singer Psy (48, real name Park Jae-sang) has been reported to have been subjected to a police raid on suspicion of having psychotropic drugs received by a third party, including his manager.
According to a report by Yonhap News on the 11th, the Seoul Seodaemun Police Station raided the office and vehicles of Psy's agency, P Nation, on the 4th and secured materials to prove Psy's allegations.
P Nation stated regarding the raid, "We actively cooperated with the authorities' request and will take necessary measures in accordance with legal procedures in the future."
Psy is suspected of having received prescriptions for psychotropic drugs 'Xanax' and 'Stilnox' from a university hospital in Seoul without undergoing direct face-to-face examinations from 2022 until recently, and having them received by a third party, including his manager.
Xanax and Stilnox are psychotropic drugs used for the treatment of sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression, and due to their high dependency and addictive nature, face-to-face examinations and prescriptions are the principle.
The police have been investigating by placing the university hospital professor who prescribed the drugs along with Psy under suspect status.
Previously, Psy's side stated regarding these allegations, "I have been diagnosed with chronic sleep disorders and am taking sleeping pills according to the medical staff's prescription," and added, "There was no proxy prescription."
