The night sky over Lima, Peru, on the other side of the world was shaken by 150,000 purple-hued cheers for BTS and passionate fans singing along in Korean.
On the 7th, 9th and 10th, BTS held its first solo concerts in Peru at Estadio San Marcos in Lima, performing “BTS World Tour 'Arirang' in Lima.”
The concerts were initially planned as a two-show engagement, but all tickets sold out almost instantly in a fierce ticketing battle. After relentless requests from fans, a third show was hastily added. More than 151,500 fans filled the venue’s capacity over the three days, greeting the members with standing ovations and roaring cheers at every moment.
“We’ll never forget the love from the other side of the world” … A legendary run that sent Peru’s economy into a frenzy
BTS connected deeply with the audience through explosive live performances and greetings in Spanish. Jimin, whose birthday is on the 13th, delivered heartfelt thanks, saying, “I will live my life never forgetting all of you, who always send us such great, unwavering love from far away.” His words moved the crowd.
BTS’ visit to Peru grew beyond a cultural performance into a nationwide economic celebration. According to local media and chamber of commerce analyses, the single concert generated an estimated 78 billion won in economic impact. After the shows ended, the number of ride-hailing requests surged 48-fold, as BTS fever swept across Peru.
After leaving behind its legendary record in Lima, BTS will continue its South American tour in Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil, once again turning the entire continent purple.
