
Actress Lee Hye-young shared her recent status while confessing to complications she has been experiencing after battling lung cancer, including recent symptoms of lymphedema.
On the 4th, Lee Hye-young posted a photo on her SNS, stating, "It seems that my lymph circulation is getting a bit better now that I’m back in Seoul." In the released photo, Lee Hye-young appeared somewhat swollen, but her expression was noticeably brighter, indicating that her condition is improving. She expressed her determination to recover, saying, "My eyes still need time, but I feel happy that the swelling in my face is subsiding."
Previously, Lee Hye-young was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in 2021 and underwent surgery to remove part of her lung. Afterward, she faced various health issues, including hospitalization for gallstones, and emphasized the need for consistent health management, stating, "After overcoming a major illness, I have aftereffects and complications."
The recently occurred lymphedema is a typical aftereffect that appears due to lymphatic circulation disorders following cancer surgery or radiation therapy. Last month, Lee Hye-young explained, "I think the lymph around my eyes is acting up again because I prepared too hard for the exhibition," adding, "It’s not that I’m running; my eyes are just very swollen, so don’t be surprised if you see me."
After finishing her painting work in Los Angeles, she immediately began preparing for the exhibition, which seems to have caused her to overexert herself. Lee Hye-young currently identifies her most important goal as 'recovering her health.' Her passion for continuing her artistic activities even during her illness has garnered support from her fans.
It remains to be seen whether the uniquely styled and artistically talented Lee Hye-young can overcome her complications and return to the public in a healthy state.
