Song Jaho, the eldest grandson of former Dongwon Construction Chairman Song Seung-heon and the representative of Pika Project, has drawn attention by revealing an unexpected story about his study abroad days with Annie (real name Moon Seo-yoon), a member of the group 'All Day Project'. In particular, the story of Annie, known as the 'granddaughter of Shinsegae', hesitating to purchase an electronic device worth around 200,000 won has piqued public curiosity.
Last month, CEO Song posted a video titled 'Real Review of Meetings Among Korean Third-Generation Conglomerates' on his personal channel. He reminisced about his time studying in the U.S., stating, "Although we weren't in the same school, we often interacted and shared meals through a gathering of international students." At that time, Annie's family background was a well-known fact among the international students, but everyone mingled without being overly conscious of it.
CEO Song emphasized that there is a difference between the life that the public imagines for 'third-generation conglomerates' and the actual experiences of students. He mentioned, "Children of mid-sized companies tend to spend more freely, while so-called 'real conglomerate' third-generation members often struggle with cash during their student days." He recalled that he mostly covered the meal expenses during his study abroad period.
The most talked-about story was related to 'AirPods'. CEO Song revealed, "At that time, the new AirPods were released, and Annie was contemplating whether to buy them, saying they were 'too expensive' at around 200,000 won." He continued, "When Annie jokingly asked, 'Can't you buy them for me, oppa?', I thought to myself, 'Those who really have money are even more so,'" sharing an amusing episode.
Meanwhile, CEO Song Jaho is active as a curator and entrepreneur, and he gained recognition for his public relationship with KARA's Park Gyuri for about two years. However, he has been embroiled in various controversies, including being caught for drunk driving in 2021 and being indicted for violations of the Capital Markets Act related to Pika Coin and fraud, facing trial.
At that time, his ex-girlfriend Park Gyuri also participated in the investigation as a witness, but it was confirmed that she had no involvement in any illegal aspects of the business or market manipulation, thus the related controversy was settled for now.
