In KBS 2TV's weekend mini-series 'Beloved Thief', Nam Ji-hyun and Moon Sang-min created explosive tension as they chose different paths amidst the whirlpool of fate known as the coup.
In the 11th episode aired on the 7th, the struggles of Hong Eun-jo (played by Nam Ji-hyun) and Lee Yeol (played by Moon Sang-min), whose souls have swapped, were depicted as they fought to protect each other. In particular, the scene where the two explained their soul-swapping situation to Dae-chu (played by Lee Seung-woo) recorded a peak viewership rating of 7.5%, proving the audience's intense interest.
Earlier, when Lee Yeol rebelled against King Lee Gyu (played by Ha Seok-jin) to protect Hong Eun-jo's older brother Hong Dae-il (played by Song Ji-ho), a bizarre incident occurred where their souls swapped. Hong Eun-jo, who entered Lee Yeol's body, observed the situation in silence, while Lee Yeol, who inhabited Hong Eun-jo's body, used his wits to prove Hong Dae-il's innocence and extinguished the urgent fire.
However, the real crisis came from outside the palace. Lee Yeol (soul of Hong Eun-jo) learned of the coup forces' plot to elevate him to the throne using Hong Eun-jo (soul of Lee Yeol). In response, Lee Yeol rushed to the palace to save Hong Eun-jo from danger and suggested, "Let's run away," but the answer he received was unexpected.
Having witnessed King Lee Gyu's tyranny and the suffering of the people in Lee Yeol's body, Hong Eun-jo began to harbor a longing for a new world. After realizing that the lord the coup forces intended to elevate was Lee Yeol, she, after deep anguish, rejected Lee Yeol's hand, saying "I can't go", evoking sympathy.
The sad confrontation between Hong Eun-jo, who dreams of a new world, and Lee Yeol, who seeks to protect her within the royal order, is now anticipated. The choices of the two, standing at the crossroads of unavoidable fate, can be confirmed in the 'Beloved Thief' episode 12 airing tonight (8th) at 9:20 PM.
