Comedian Park Na-rae has taken a strong stance of responding through legal procedures, putting aside emotional appeals regarding ongoing controversies, including conflicts with former managers and allegations of illegal medical practices.
This controversy began earlier this month when former managers accused Park Na-rae of being an abuser. The initial statement from Park Na-rae's one-person agency, Anpark, expressed that she suffered mental shock due to an employee's resignation and demands for money, appealing for public sympathy. Park Na-rae also described her relationship with her former managers as familial on the 8th, defining the situation as a simple misunderstanding and oversight.
However, former manager A directly refuted Park Na-rae's claims. A stated that while it is true they had a conversation, there was no apology or agreement, and instead, they were told to consider legal action. A expressed displeasure, stating that the announcement of a resolution to misunderstandings was merely a delay tactic to change public opinion.
Furthermore, the working conditions revealed by YouTuber Lee Jin-ho shocked the public. It was claimed that two female managers were mobilized for private events like the Narae Bar party and had to be on standby 24 hours, with an average monthly working time exceeding 400 hours. Issues regarding reimbursement for food expenses purchased out of pocket and unpaid severance pay also surfaced, escalating the controversy uncontrollably.
To make matters worse, this issue has escalated into allegations of illegal medical practices, commonly referred to as the Injection Aunt Gate. Park Na-rae has been accused of receiving proxy prescriptions from unlicensed medical personnel or undergoing illegal procedures.
As the situation became serious, Park Na-rae issued an official statement on the 16th, stating that she would refrain from further public comments and would objectively verify the facts through legal procedures. This is interpreted as a determination to organize the matter according to official procedures, excluding personal emotions.
Currently, there are a total of six lawsuits related to Park Na-rae. Former managers have filed complaints against her at the Gangnam Police Station for workplace harassment, verbal abuse, special injury, and proxy prescriptions. In response, Park Na-rae's side has filed a counter-complaint against the former managers for attempted extortion at the Yongsan Police Station, signaling a legal battle ahead.
Unlike the initial response emphasizing a familial relationship, the public is pouring in critical views on Park Na-rae's shift to legal action without an apology or clear explanation.
