"Is this salvation or destruction?"
The main characters of tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'How to Become a Building Owner in South Korea' have personally selected and revealed the key words that penetrate the work. Renowned actors such as Ha Jung-woo and Im Soo-jung defined the identity of the drama as a 'suspense of desire' that goes beyond simple comedy.
Set to premiere on March 14, this work depicts the story of a struggling building owner who, burdened by debt, takes a dangerous gamble by staging a fake kidnapping to protect his family and his building.
Ha Jung-woo, who plays the building owner 'Gi Soo-jong' who has borrowed money with all his soul, chose the sub-title 'A New Lifeline or a Rotten Lifeline'. He stated, "The key viewing point is to see whether the last chance taken for a turnaround in life is salvation or destruction," hinting at the dilemma the protagonist will face.
Im Soo-jung, who plays the strong-willed wife 'Kim Sun', threw out the keyword 'Survival Instinct'. She emphasized the intricate psychological battle, saying, "The choices characters make in life-and-death moments and the ensemble that blooms within will oscillate between comedy and tragedy."
Witty sub-titles also catch the eye. Kim Jun-han expressed the urgent yet humorous atmosphere of the drama with the phrase "But now with reminders, threats, and kidnappings...", while Jung Soo-jung hinted at the tumultuous trials her character 'Jeon Yi-kyung' will face with the short and impactful phrase "It's not easy".
Shim Eun-kyung, who plays the villain 'Yona', mentioned 'Icarus' Wings' and delivered a heavy message. He explained, "This is a work that shows the endless longing and limits of humanity, as well as the raw face of desire that spreads uncontrollably," raising expectations.
The production team stated, "The decisive clues of the drama are hidden in the sub-titles completed by the actors," and added, "We hope viewers look forward to how the stories of desire, unraveled from different perspectives, will unfold in the main broadcast."
Meanwhile, tvN's 'How to Become a Building Owner in South Korea' will premiere on Saturday, March 14, at 9:10 PM.
