
Actors Jin Tae-hyun and Park Si-eun have announced that after much contemplation, they have decided to stop their efforts to have a child and focus more on each other's lives.
On the 1st, a video letter was posted on Park Si-eun and Jin Tae-hyun's YouTube channel, Small TV, to greet subscribers for the New Year 2026. In this video, the couple cautiously revealed their decision regarding their future family plans.
Jin Tae-hyun and Park Si-eun expressed their gratitude for the support from many, but stated that it seems to be time to stop that support, saying that their biological child, Tae-eun, was their last, and they have decided to conclude their efforts to have a child here.
The background of their decision is filled with heartbreaking stories from the past five years. Jin Tae-hyun revealed that he has experienced three miscarriages, and particularly, sending Tae-eun to heaven was a wound too great for the couple to bear. He mentioned that while he had been focused on having a child, he added that a child is not everything in their marriage.
Park Si-eun mentioned her husband's health issues as a decisive factor in their decision. She revealed that while feeling that having a child had become the main purpose of their lives, her husband was diagnosed with cancer. Park Si-eun realized that the greatest blessing was being able to support each other in health while her husband was ill, and she stated that since they have worked hard without regrets, they will now devote themselves to loving each other.
Having reaffirmed the preciousness of life and their affection for each other through Jin Tae-hyun's battle with thyroid cancer, the couple has set a new direction for their lives beyond their sorrow.
