T.O.P of BIGBANG has broken a long 13-year silence and released his first solo studio album. By restarting solo activities ahead of the full-group return of BIGBANG, which was announced to be coming within the year, all eyes are on him from fans around the world.
According to T.O.P’s agency, The Spot Pictures, on the 3rd at 6:00 p.m., T.O.P released his first studio album, ‘Multiperspective,’ simultaneously worldwide. One of the double title tracks, the music video for ‘Desperado,’ was also unveiled. The song lays out moments of love with straightforward lyrics, and through restrained direction, it maximizes T.O.P’s distinctive aura and emotional arc.
The album also includes another title track, ‘Totally Crazy!(Studio54),’ consisting of 11 tracks. From ‘Totally Crazy!,’ which blends ’80s hip-hop sensibilities with a house sound, to a variety of tracks such as ‘Top’s Greed,’ ‘Only Me,’ and ‘Zerocoke,’ the lineup proves T.O.P’s expanded musical spectrum.
In particular, T.O.P personally took the lead on the album’s overall producing, raising its artistic completion level. Ilko, an engineer who won a Grammy Award, handled the mixing and created a three-dimensional sound based on Dolby Atmos. Visual elements also feature a host of global masters, including American contemporary artist Ed Ruscha and art director Chaekyung Sun from Netflix’s ‘Squid Game,’ signaling the birth of a well-made masterpiece.
This solo album release is being seen as an important signal of how BIGBANG’s group activities may unfold next. Meanwhile, BIGBANG, which T.O.P belongs to, is set to open the door to its full-group return by taking the stage at ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival,’ the world’s biggest music festival, in California on the 12th and 19th.
