Nana, who fought off a home invader barehanded and restrained him, says she will not show up in court, arguing that she refuses to face the accuser due to the severe trauma, and says the allegations are false

Actor Nana, a former member of the girl group After School, and her mother announced that they will not attend the trial as witnesses for a man in his 30s, identified as A, who is accused of breaking into their home and committing a robbery with a weapon. The move is intended to prevent further harm stemming from the severe trauma caused by the crime, as well as a second wave of damage from the accuser’s brazen and false claims.

The incident took place on November 15, 2025, at Nana’s home in Acheon-dong, Guri, Gyeonggi Province. After being detained and indicted, A was reported to have climbed a ladder to enter the home, threatened Nana and her mother with a weapon, and attempted to steal cash and valuables. At the time, Nana reportedly fought off the assailant barehanded to protect her mother—subdued him, then handed him over to the police.

However, during the trial, A denied any intent to commit robbery outright and kept making rambling, incoherent statements. In the end, he attempted a bizarre reversal, claiming that Nana stabbed him with a weapon, and filed a counterclaim accusing Nana of attempted murder. The police determined that Nana’s actions were clearly in self-defense, decided not to refer the case to prosecutors, and closed the matter for now.

As the assailant continued to act shamelessly, Nana’s mother, identified as Ms. Shin, repeatedly submitted a witness non-appearance report and a written statement of reasons through the Uijeongbu District Court’s Namyangju branch. Nana also submitted a statement to the court saying she has no intention of facing the accuser in court. As a result, the scheduled hearing was postponed to the 24th.

Nana’s agency, Sublime, said it is furious about the accuser’s actions and announced a zero-tolerance position. The agency said it will not overlook a second wave of wrongdoing carried out under the pretext that the accused is a celebrity. It added that it will seek serious accountability by mobilizing all possible legal measures in both civil and criminal cases, including filing a false accusation complaint related to the counterclaim.

Recently, Nana recalled the shocking circumstances from that time through her personal YouTube channel. She said she couldn’t even make a sound because she was afraid her mother would be hurt, and she confessed that she rushed in with nothing but the thought that she had to save her mother, drawing public sympathy and support.

As public outrage grows over a brutal crime targeting a celebrity and the accuser’s malicious false allegations, attention is focused on how Nana’s strong legal response may affect the outcome of future proceedings.
