Comedian Jo Se-ho has successfully completed the filming of KBS 2TV's '1 Night 2 Days' Season 4 despite the recent controversy surrounding allegations of his involvement with organized crime. This filming was the first official schedule following the emergence of the controversy.
The '1 Night 2 Days' team filmed in Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do on the 5th and 6th. Both Jo Se-ho and the production team had not made any official statements regarding their departure, so the filming proceeded as planned.
Earlier, on the 4th, a netizen exposed allegations related to Jo Se-ho's private life through social media. The netizen claimed, "Jo Se-ho, reflect on yourself. Are you drinking with A, the head of the largest violent organization in the Geochang area, while promoting a franchise run by a member of organized crime under the pretext of being friends and receiving expensive gifts? Is this acceptable for a comedian?"
The person who revealed this, claiming to be a private informant, added that A is a criminal involved in operating illegal gambling sites and laundering gambling money. The exposed social media post included photos of Jo Se-ho and A with their arms around each other, further intensifying the suspicions.
In response, Jo Se-ho's agency, A2Z Entertainment, strongly refuted the claims on the same day, stating, "It is true that Jo Se-ho is acquainted with A, but the allegations of direct or indirect involvement in any wrongdoing are merely the informant's personal speculation and are not true." They also stated, "The allegations that Jo Se-ho received money or expensive gifts are also nothing more than personal speculation and are unrelated to the facts," and announced plans for legal action.
Despite the agency's strong rebuttal, the account in question heightened tensions by stating, "I have photos of Jo Se-ho and his wife having drinks at A's house. If you continue to claim 'just acquaintances,' I will have no choice but to make them public."
As the situation escalates, viewers' concerns about the programs Jo Se-ho is involved in are also growing. On the KBS Viewer Rights Center's petition board, posts demanding his departure have been appearing, affecting the program as well.
