According to Nielsen Korea, the viewership rating for the first episode of 'Starting Today, I'm Human', which aired the previous day, recorded 3.7% nationwide. The broadcast depicted the strange fate of MZ Gumiho Eun-ho, who refuses to become human, and the talented but poor soccer genius Kang Si-yeol, capturing the viewers' attention.
In the drama, Eun-ho is a character who uses the powers accumulated over hundreds of years to grant human wishes for a price. However, contrary to the traditional Gumiho folklore, she shows an unusual aspect by thoroughly avoiding good deeds to avoid becoming human. When two soccer players, Hyun Woo-seok and Kang Si-yeol, appear before Eun-ho, she foresees a bright future for Woo-seok, but an unexpected traffic accident begins to twist all situations.
The true culprit of the accident, chaebol fourth-generation Lee Yoon, entrusted Eun-ho with a request to erase the memory of witness Si-yeol. After receiving a hefty offer, Eun-ho visits Si-yeol and at that moment sees a new vision of Si-yeol's successful future, instinctively realizing that their fates have been reversed, which heightened the drama's immersion.
