Jennie, a member of the group BLACKPINK and a global solo artist, has set a new milestone in K-Pop with her first full-length album 'Ruby'.
On the 3rd, the American music magazine Rolling Stone announced on its official website that Jennie's 'Ruby' was included in the '100 Best Albums of 2025'.
'Ruby' ranked 29th overall, achieving the highest position recorded by a K-Pop artist.
Rolling Stone introduced the album as "the most recent work in the solo project series of the four BLACKPINK members this year," and commented, "'Ruby' relies heavily on the ideas that dominated R&B pop in the 2000s and 2010s, while modernizing them in interesting ways at times." They further praised, "Jennie demonstrates an amazing ability to dominate the sweet pop R&B center."
In addition, Jennie is solidifying her position as a global star. She was selected as the top 'Korean Idol of the Year 2025' by Forbes Korea, and participated as the only domestic artist in Spotify's 'Spotify Wrapped 2025' campaign.
Notably, on the Spotify Wrapped chart, 'Ruby' was the only K-Pop solo artist album to be named in the 'Best Pop Albums of 2025'. Among them, the title track 'Like Jennie' ranked 43rd as the 'Most Streamed Song of 2025' worldwide, achieving the highest ranking among songs released by K-Pop female artists this year.
Additionally, 'Like Jennie' ranked 62nd on the Apple Music year-end chart 'Top 100: Global', setting a record as the first K-Pop solo artist to enter that chart.
