




Actor Yoo Ji-tae has drawn attention by revealing the behind-the-scenes story of how he restrained his personal life to fully immerse himself in his character during the filming of his representative work, the movie 'Oldboy'.
On the 5th, Yoo Ji-tae and Lee Min-jung, the stars of the new Tving series 'Villains', appeared as guests on the YouTube channel 'Jjanhan Hyung' hosted by Shin Dong-yeob. On this day, Yoo Ji-tae directly addressed the rumors of his abstinent lifestyle that circulated during the filming of 'Oldboy'.
Yoo Ji-tae explained that his character, Lee Woo-jin, is a person whose growth has stopped and has no personal life, and to express the character's inner self, he maintained an abstinent lifestyle, avoiding sexual relationships. In response, MC Shin Dong-yeob expressed admiration, stating that such a legendary character could be born because of Yoo Ji-tae's unique approach to his role.
Lee Min-jung, who appeared alongside him, mentioned Yoo Ji-tae's yoga pose, which is considered one of the iconic scenes in 'Oldboy'. She said she was curious if that pose was actually possible, and Yoo Ji-tae shared that he had indeed learned yoga and that the scene was completed with a little help from wires during filming.
Yoo Ji-tae's dedication to his work continued in his recent projects. He revealed an episode where he gained weight up to 105kg for the filming of the drama 'Vigilante'. He shared a humorous story about how, due to his large physique at the time, people on the street mistook him for a member of an organization and greeted him as 'brother'.
Additionally, Yoo Ji-tae confessed to the pain of suddenly growing in size due to a wrong prescription in his childhood. He recounted his experience of becoming oversized due to the side effects of steroids included in medication for a skin disease during elementary school, adding that the chubby photos circulating online at that time are proof of it.
Actor Yoo Ji-tae, who is not afraid of drastic transformations and maintains thorough self-management, married actress Kim Hyo-jin in 2011 and currently has two children. He is set to showcase another intense performance through his upcoming work 'Villains'.
