In the first episode of tvN's Reply 1988 10th Anniversary, which aired on the 19th, the five families of Ssangmun-dong gathered in one place after 10 years to go on a 2-day, 1-night MT trip to Gangwon-do. The cast appeared in fashion reminiscent of their characters from the drama, evoking memories and showcasing their enduring chemistry. This broadcast recorded a nationwide household rating of 4.6%, and ranked first in the target demographic of 2049, proving its hot topic status.
This 10th anniversary special was born from an idea that emerged during a private gathering of the actors. Under the direction of Na Young-seok and Shin Gun-jun, the reunited actors expressed that it felt like forgotten memories were coming back to life. Before the official schedule began, the families, divided into three groups, shared updates and expressed their joy at seeing each other again.
The highlight of the broadcast was the allowance game. Based on the premise of being trapped in 1988, the allowance was distributed differently depending on the success of the game, either based on modern prices or 1988 prices. Deok-seon's family challenged the absolute pitch game, with Sung Dong-il, Lee Il-hwa, and Hyeri showcasing perfect teamwork and bringing laughter.
