BTS's Jungkook has proven his overwhelming status as a global pop star by being selected as the first runner for the global project of the music media Rolling Stone.
His agency, Big Hit Music, stated, "The music media Rolling Stone has selected Jungkook as the first runner for the global project and released the exclusive cover image on the 9th."
This photoshoot project is significant as it is the first collaboration among Korea, England, and Japan in the history of Rolling Stone. Jungkook simultaneously adorned the covers of Rolling Stone in Korea, England, and Japan, and the publication includes an interview that captures his activities, musical direction, and vision along with the photoshoot.
In particular, Jungkook caught attention as the first Korean solo artist to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone UK. His photoshoot was also released as digital covers for Rolling Stone in the USA, France, India, the Philippines, and China, achieving the remarkable feat of adorning the print and digital covers of a total of 8 countries at the same time.
In the interview, Jungkook revealed his vision as an artist. He said, "Now is a time for a new leap. I want to continue evolving while trying new things," and added, "I want to show the various sides of myself. I want to be an artist who creates the flow rather than being swept away by it, and a limitless artist."
Meanwhile, Jungkook recently proved his global popularity by surpassing 10 billion cumulative streams on the music streaming platform Spotify, becoming the first Korean solo artist to achieve this milestone.
