The group BIGBANG is set to launch full group activities to celebrate their 20th anniversary since debut. They have confirmed a global tour in collaboration with their original label, YG Entertainment.
On the 4th, YG Entertainment released a video titled '2026 YG Plan' on their official blog. In the video, Yang Hyun-suk, the chief producer, officially announced BIGBANG's comeback along with YG's major activity plans for this year in an interview after about six months.
Yang Hyun-suk stated, "We have reached a final agreement to hold a performance to celebrate the 20th anniversary of BIGBANG with the members." This project is significant as it has come together despite the members currently being with different agencies or scattered across personal labels. The members agreed to continue their individual activities in their respective areas, but the 20th anniversary project under the name 'BIGBANG' will be managed within YG's management system.
With BIGBANG's return, aggressive activity plans for YG's affiliated artists have also been announced. Baby Monster will kick off with the release of their mini album 'Dance (CHOOM)' in May, followed by a regular second album in the fall, and they will embark on their second world tour starting in June, including South America and Europe.
Treasure will also release a mini album in June, marking the beginning of their second act. Yang emphasized, "Reflecting the members' wishes, we will showcase a strong hip-hop sound," hinting at the most YG-like music that has not been shown before. Additionally, YG is preparing a new boy group aiming for a fall debut, and information about the members of the four-member girl group 'Next Monster (tentative name)' will be released sequentially.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of YG Entertainment, which aims to reaffirm its influence in the global market through the return of the powerful IP of BIGBANG and large-scale projects for next-generation groups. Yang Hyun-suk emphasized, "I will do my best to deliver joyful news throughout the year without losing our original intention."
